The 35th entry to be made official this year is.... Azerbaijan!!! The country debuted in Eurovision last year in Belgrade and came 8th with the song "Day After Day". Much anticipation has been building up to this year's song since it became known that the supposedly well known producer/singer Arash (actually, I had never heard of him before...) had penned the song.
ARTIST: Aysel & Arash
SONG: Always
The song sounds very professional and one that I believe many Europeans will enjoy and vote for massively. A typical ethnic pop song, similar to songs we have heard from eastern Europe the last few years. The catchy chorus will secure another good result for Azerbaijan but I don't think it is a winner. I predict a Top 10, or perhaps even Top 5 given it gets the perfect draw and with a near perfect performance. Definitely one to watch out for...
Azerbaijan will compete in the second semi final on 14th of May.
