And the 34th country to decide is...

ISRAEL!!! Tonight Israel hosted a one-hour show in which 4 songs were presented to the public. Israel is a country who has experienced plenty of ups and downs in the contest includig 3 wins during the 35 years or so they have taken part. Many of their entries have become Eurovision classics like "A-Ba-Ni-Bi", "Hallelujah", "Hi!", "Ole Ole" and "Diva". Eurovision was even the beginning of an international career for the late Israeli superstar Ofra Haza. Tonight the selected entry was...

ARTIST: Noa & Mira Awad
SONG: Einaiych (There Must Be Another Way)

This year Israel has chosen a mid-tempo melodic pop song with a message of peace. The harmonies of the girls singing are working very well, and makes this an above average song, and for me the only song that stood out in their national selection. However, whether this will stand out in Moscow is another question. There are already several better songs chosen, as well as a lot of worse songs in the competition. I'd say their chance of qualifying for the final is 50/50, all depending on the draw and of course most importantly how the song works on stage in Moscow and their performance of it.

Israel will perform in the first semi final on the 12th of May.

VERDICT: 6 out of 10
